Journeyman - targeted to developers, scrum masters, managers
an understanding of XP/Scrum terminology, basic experience on working on an agile project
Four members of a 50-strong distributed agile team will present and discuss some of the free tools currently used to support and facilitate agile development work. Three aspects of the agile software craftsmanship are examined: project status visibility, immediate feedback, complete automation. The presenters will speak about their experience on configuring and using some of the most popular free tools to effectively achieve results on these three aspects.
Based on the experience of the presenters, the session explores how tools like Eclipse IDE (enhanced with plugins), Ant, Cruise Control, ScrumWorks, Selenium and Fitnesse can be configured and used on a daily basis from all the participants to the project, in light of the three above mentioned aspects. Attendees will also see what are the pros and cons of those tools and of the approach described, the success and failure stories that each of the presenters have experienced. Q&A will follow at the end of the presentation to conclude the session.
